'Narrbong', dilly bag, by Lorraine Connelly-Northey. Lorraine Connelly-Northey's work is a rich reflection of her own heritage. Her mother is a Waradgerie woman and her father Irish. She initially become extremely skilled in weaving then turned her talent to utilising scrap materials to create traditional objects, consulting with her mother insuring her work is appropriate. Connelly-Northey's work, while maintaining cultural integrity, implements recuperated remnants of white settlement and colonial enterprises, resulting in a strong statement statement on injustices suffered by Indigenous Australian peoples.
